Akhil Tripathi brings years of outstanding insurance technology experience to Unirisx LLC. As Harleysville Insurance’s Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Akhil led the company’s information technology strategy, integration, and development efforts. He was responsible for all automated systems, including corporate management information, agency interface, policy processing, and emerging technologies. He also oversaw insurance operations and services, including Harleysville’s call center, agency service center, insurance business processing and BPO, and IT outsourced services. Since joining Unirisx, Akhil has received numerous industry accolades, including being named as one of the 2011 Movers & Shakers in Insurance IT by Insurance & Technology.

 

Jim Short

Jim Short joined Unirisx as Controller in 2010 and was promoted to CFO in 2012.  Prior to joining Unirisx, Jim Short was vice president of finance for Alliance Consulting Group, a technology solutions provider to global businesses.  Mr. Short has over twenty five years of finance experience as a CFO and controller. He has worked for USA 3000 Airlines and NUMEREX Corporation.  Mr. Short has also served as a CPA with several regional accounting firms.

Julian James

Julian James’ diverse background and experience have deeply informed the direction of Unirisx’s development. Julian studied Law and Insurance to the post graduate level, completing the ACII (Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute). Afterward, Julian became involved in all aspects of insurance systems design and implementation. He worked in both French and Irish start-up insurance software companies in the UK, and spent 12 years as the Deputy Managing Director of PMSC South Africa with Computer Science Corporation. As Managing Director of Business Development, Julian was part of the founding team that set up Duck Creek Technologies in the UK and South Africa.

Andrew Philpott

Being there from its inception and seeing it through its evolution, I am delighted to continue to see Unirisx remain at the top of the industry; and along with our dedicated team and partners, we have a proven model which goes from strength to strength.

As one of Unirisx’s original founders and directors, Andrew Philpott uses his extensive international background to help continue to shape the Unirisx solution. Andrew has over 30 years of experience in the industry, and prior to Unirisx was responsible for running successful IT operations worldwide in a variety of industries, including financial services, utilities, and retail sectors. He guided a number of high profile insurance projects throughout Europe for international companies, including Unisys Corporation. At Unirisx, Andrew created the Unirisx operational managed service solution. He has been instrumental in growing Unirisx’s operational and delivery capabilities in-house, as well as developing a successful and efficient offshore model in India.

Tom Temple
Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the Americas

Tom Temple is serving as the EVP, Sales and Marketing for the Americas. Tom leads the strategic sales and marketing plan for the America market. Tom has over 35 years of successful experience in the P&C insurance industry. Tom’s background includes enterprise software sales, software development, and implementations with several companies, including Policy Management Systems, Computer Sciences Corporation, Duck Creek Technologies and Accenture. Tom has successfully sold into carriers of all sizes, including two of the top five personal lines automobile carriers, and the commercial specialty division of the seventh largest carrier in the United States. His global experience includes sales to carriers in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Tom is a licensed Property and Casualty agent and managed the largest independent insurance agency in South Carolina.

 

Jeff Larson

Jeff brings 18 years of leadership experience in the industry, including sales and product management roles with Majesco and Delphi Information Systems where he has been credited for affecting dynamic growth and establishing key client relationships.

Brad Schulz
Chief Technology Officer
 

As an accomplished technology executive, Brad Schulz has tremendous experience building complex technology systems. Brad’s background as an entrepreneur, author, database expert, and e-commerce architect informed his 10 years at Catalina Marketing, where his roles included Chief Architect and Head of Delivery for the customer engagement platform. Most recently, Brad was the Vice President of Application Development, Infrastructure, and Security at Bankers Financial Corporation.
